44th East Essex Regiment of Foot

One of Wellington’s Finest!

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our web site.

We are a Living History and Re-enactment group, representing one of the famous British Army Regiments of the early 19th Century - The 44th East Essex.  The 44th has a long history stretching back to its origination in 1748 and through subsequent changes and amalgamations. Its roots are embodied in the current Royal Anglian Regiment.

This site will give you the opportunity to find out virtually everything there is to know about our group and the 44th itself - Our History, what we do and where we go, both at home and overseas.

You will be able to see what our future plans are and we hope get a good idea of the sort of people we are, our respect for our Regiment’s heritage and our efforts to be as authentic as possible in everything we do.

When you read through this site you will begin to appreciate, how the regiment has established a reputation as being one of the most committed, friendly and sought after groups in UK Re-enactment.

If you just want to find out a little bit more about us, that's great,  However,  if you have the desire to consider joining us, or hiring us for an event or historic occasion, there is sufficient information in the following pages to help you.  Just go to our Joining/Hiring Page.

Happy reading!
